![]() It's on the southwest corner of the court and the view is fantastic (I brought my Canon 60D with 70-300mm L pro lens and got amazing pics). There are elevators at gates B and G, and we sat in the ADA seats right in front of gate G. The following day, we switched the remainder of our tickets to ADA seats, and it made a huge difference in my comfort level. I was still in pain, but the with extra room it didn't get any worse. After the first match, we went to Guest Services and requested a wheelchair and a switch to ADA seats. By the fourth session, in the 5th row, packed like sardines, I was in severe pain (I have a chronic pain condition that has left me disabled, and I had no idea the 400-level seats at Crandon would be so bad). The seats were manageable for the first three sessions, because we were in the front row and had a little leg room and no one next to me. If we went again, we'd likely spend more money for better seats (200-level are suites, which aren't really available to the general public). Seats in the 100- and 300-level were bigger and more comfortable, with a lot more leg room. Our 400-level seats in Miami were closer than our upper 100-level seats in NYC, but the seats in Miami are horribly, painfully cramped. Five days of tennis, with a package deal for 400-level seats and then a daily double for the first day of quarters, cost $900 - what one day of quarterfinals at the US Open cost. So we bought tix for the Miami Open, quarters through the finals (and of course, he went out in the 3rd round!). My husband and I went to the US Open last fall, but since Rafa didn't play, I wanted to try again. Also, any of the frozen drink stands will refill your own bottle with ice for free. It will save you $3.75 every time you do it. (9) Bring in a frozen water bottle - then fill it back up at the water fountain on the bottom floor of the stadium near the "Beach Party". (8) Use their App - it's actually pretty good. (7) Pace yourself - it's hot and the Beer is $7 (but at least it is Stella). (5) Try the food trucks - lots of good choices, (6) Buy your tickets through stubhub - at least this last week there were tons of tickets for sale and much better prices and better seats than i paid back in November. (3) Spring for a stadium seat to see the big names and have a place to park yourself (4) Buy a towel and cover up your legs/head - the florida sun can burn you very fast. If there is someone you want to see, get there early. (2) The seating on some of the outside courts is a bit limited - especially court 8. Trust me, it will save you time and aggravation. Pay the extra few bucks and Park in Lot 2 and WALK to the tournament. Then you take a 15 minute bus ride - more if there is traffic. ![]() You drive down "Sewage Plant Road" -no, i'm not kidding. There are a few things you should know if you go to the Tournament. There is a wide variety of food and good space once inside the grounds. The Miami Open is a very international event that is put on very well. I've been to the French Open, US Open, and Australian Open.
